Our Qualifications

At Robillard Hearing Centres all of our hearing care practitioners are fully qualified Hearing Instrument Specialists who are registered with the Ontario Ministry of Health under the Ontario Assistive Devices Program.

Our Services

Evaluation and Comprehensive Solutions   While providing you with unconditional understanding and acceptance at every visit, our qualified hearing healthcare professionals can evaluate your hearing issues and provide remedial recommendations to your family doctor for hearing instruments, assistive hearing devices, or fill any hearing instrument prescription.

Hearing Care Devices   At Robillard Hearing Centres you will find our people knowledgeable about all of the hearing care devices presently on the market, and will take the time to give you all the information necessary to allow you to make an informed decision regarding a hearing instrument that may be best for you.

Overall Care   We will also provide you with information and guidance for the proper daily care of your hearing instrument, provide you with information about insurance and warranties, and advise you on other assistive listening devices which, in conjunction with your hearing instruments, will enrich your life even more.

Guidance and Counsel   Our practitioners will also take the time to provide you with counsel on general coping strategies to improve your communication, and can suggest other individual professionals and/or groups who may be able to give you any extra support you may need.

Expectations

Comfort and Confidence   When you visit Robillard Hearing Centres you're not only buying a product, but a full service, one that is fashioned to support your hearing healthcare needs, and designed to improve the quality of your life. Total comfort with, and complete confidence in your Hearing Care Practitioner should play a major role in your choice of a hearing healthcare professional.

Realism   It is important for any person experiencing hearing challenges to understand that hearing instruments can never return your hearing to normal, nor can they medically cure a hearing problem. What they will do is allow you to experience improved hearing - giving you the means and opportunity to heighten your participation and interaction with your world.

Tailored to Your Needs   Even in the face of today's advanced technologies, the fitting of hearing instruments is an art as well as a science. You should expect that modification of your hearing instrument during the first two months is normal, and we welcome any comments you may have so that we can make your hearing devices perform according to your individual needs and circumstances.

Performance   Your hearing instrument carries a warranty against malfunction, but naturally requires preventative care to maintain its performance. You can expect your hearing instrument to have a life expectancy of approximately four years. At that time, due to design and circuitry advancements, most wearers would benefit from hearing instrument replacement.

Vigilance, Accountability, and Dedication   Above all, while you are rectifying your hearing challenges and reacquainting yourself with the sounds around you, you need to have patience not only with yourself, but with your family and friends. Your hearing is unique and calls for ongoing vigilance and management. At Robillard Hearing Centres our clients can rest assured that our hearing care services will be performed with accountability and dedication, and tailored to your unique needs.

Hearing Instrument Specialists   Hearing Instrument Specialists are graduates of the Hearing Instrument Specialist program from Sheridan College, George Brown College, or other recognized Canadian technical institutes. Having initially earned the qualifications of Hearing Instrument Dispenser, Hearing Instrument Specialists are also qualified to test a patient's hearing and to make recommendations to your family physician regarding hearing instruments or assistive devices. With medical clearance from your family doctor, the Hearing Instrument Specialist will provide you with all of the hearing care services you may require, including a hearing test.

In order to retain registration and membership, members are required to devote a specified number of hours to ongoing education on the latest advances in hearing instrument technology and medical research. This framework ensures that the public receives the best possible counseling on every hearing instrument, earmold, ear defender, hearing protection device, assistive listening device, and/or consultation and repair service.

Hearing Assessments   Clients can receive a hearing assessment for the purposes of obtaining hearing instruments or assistive listening devices from either a Hearing Instrument Specialist or an Audiologist. Hearing Instrument Specialists can perform the assessment first, and then refer back to the family physician for a prescription and medical clearance. Audiologists, usually working within Speech and Language Departments of hospitals, in most cases require a referral from a doctor before they can perform a hearing assessment. Yet, all healthcare providers in the hearing care field have the expertise, experience, and qualifications to serve those in Ontario who require hearing care.

For all the moments that are yours to live, contact Robillard Hearing Centres for more information or to arrange an appointment for a no-cost, no-obligation consultation.
